I need a web interface written for folders on a server's hard drive. Once completed the site will become an iframe within another site and starts with login page. The site is already built using Alfresco, you can modify the Alfresco site if you know how to do so or you can write your own from scratch or use some other open source as starting ground. Alfresco has two main problems, files must be uploaded using the WEB interface (not windows). Alfreso has no user access controls by default. Alfresco has too many menus and options, I need a very basic simple site.
User access control is the main part of this project. Project Admins will put users inside groups and groups will be given access to folders. The access is simply only to view, sort by date, etc. Each uploaded file will have about 6 fields of meta-data associated with it (date, title, code1, code2, dollar amount, approved?). All users only view and download files of which their group is tagged to do so. Users can sign themselves up but cannot join a group or see any files.
User levels:
SuperAdmin (full site access)
Project Admin (user controls, remove/add users, add/remove users from groups)
GC User (view folders and files for which his group is assigned to, edti "approved" metatag)
SC User (view folders and files for which his group is assigned to)
Files will be stores in a folder in the server. No web uploading. The system needs to continuously monitor the folder for changes and update the list of files. I will retain the source code of the project.
Notification: When a file is added to a folder or when a file is approved by GC Users, a notification email is sent to all users in groups who have access to that folder containing the file.
