We are searching for an experienced web developer who has created projects like what we explain below. To be considered for this project, you must be able to supply examples of websites you have created for donations to non Profit organizations using PayPal. We are looking for examples that are beyond simply placing a PayPal 'Donate' button(s) in the site.
We would like a 'social' website created to allow:
1.) Donors to Blog in their own space
2.) Donors to Choose Charities to donate to
3.) Donors to actually process a donation (Via PayPal)
3.) Allow Donors to view how much $ has been donated to each specific charity they have donated to, by all those who donated to the same charity (grouping ability)
Examples of a site that does *some* of the functionality they are interested in: http://www.networkforgood.org
The above site does not offer the donor blogging aspect.
At First look, it seems this project *may* be built around WordPress MU; BuddyPress; Mingle Plugin; PayPal.
Wordpress is required for this project.
The will also need to somehow interface with the Charity listing information from: http://www.guidestar.com in some manner. Creation of an administrative interface allowing an import of Charity information. Also, and interface to alter the DB of Charity information.
