We are looking to build an Android version of our iPhone application "ASL Dictionary".
The specs are below, you can also take a look at the application on iTunes.
ASL Dictionary (for Android),
The App will be a Dictionary of Sign Language video clips with their corresponding text in English.
The iPhone version currently uses a server to hold the video clips. (About 4,800 video clips, 445mb total).
I do not own the code for the iPhone app, so I can not provide it to you. But we may be able to use the same server that holds the videos.
1) A Splash screen (I have one we can use)
2) Look of the screen will be from the top down.
The title of the App, a search box under it, an info button to the left, and a settings button to the right, then the list of words.
3) Scroll threw the word list to find a word.
Use a-z slider on right side of screen to find word, and touch scroll through the word list.
4)Search box on top to find word. Search will find closest word as the user types.
5) When user taps on a word, the app will display its translation in Sign Language, (the corresponding 1-3 second video clip) then the screen will return to the word list.
6) When video plays the text of that word is shown on the same screen as video, at the bottom of the video clip. (Text color=white)
7) View in Landscape and portrait when user rotates phone.
8) Once the video is played by the user, the video is cached. This is done because of the size of the app.
9) In settings the user can turn "off" cache. If cache is off then videos are still cached put the cache automatically clears when the app is closed.
10) Also a "Clear cache" button.
11) An info page, with a way to send an email to me for tech support or feedback.
12) Provide me with adhoc version for testing.
13) Fix any bugs.
14) Submit to Android market.
This is a great educational app to have in your portfolio, we hope this will be the beginning of a great relationship as we have more work. Please submit your bids and we look forward to working with you.
Thanks
