Build a web based customer database, where store staff and managers can enter details about Seaside customers including address, size, purchase activity history, as well as export this information for future product mailers and emails.
For Phase 1, build the database along with the first Seaside incentive program that rewards customers for certain spend levels.
Web based database
Access Levels:
Super User
All functions
Seaside Staff
Add, edit, view, remove, and export client information.
Store Staff
Add and view client information.
Store staff can submit updates, but has to be approved by seaside staff or super user before the record is successfully updated in database.
Customer Information
First Name*
Last Name*
Email Address*
Phone Number
Address Line 1
Address Line 2
City
State
Zip
Notes (description field)
Sizes (description field)
Activity – linked to another record/table
Total Dollar Spend (generated by database)
Activity
These will be individual records. Within each record:
Transaction #
Store Location (right now, this would be a drop-down editable by super user with pre-defined fields)
Date
Dollar Amount
# Items
Notes (description field)
When appended to each customer, they would be ordered by date. Summary on the line: Date and $ amount. When you click on that, you would be able to go to the detail screen.
Store staff, Seaside staff, and super user would be able to create these activity records.
Total dollar spend would be generated by the database. Also, would like to be able to customize total dollar spend. By default, it would be all records, but we could also sort by a date range.
E.g., how many customers spent money between 12/15-12/25 for example and how much?
User Accounts
At present, super user and seaside staff would be the only ones able to create new user accounts for access to this system. Customers will never be able to access this system. We are just compiling details on them. Perhaps in the future long-term, this system would be something customers would access. But for this phase, not necessary, but program the database as such with this future functionality in mind.
Data Export
We would like to be able to export customer data into a CSV file so we can use their information for other programs, like MailChimp for example.
